Concurrent Meetings

The Northeast Natural History Conference is a great opportunity for conservation-minded organizations to partner with us and hold concurrent meetings, and we have an excellent track record of successfully co-hosting such gatherings to the mutual benefit of both events. We are generally able to successfully coordinate scheduling of such compatible events so that attendees of your meeting would be able to enjoy the rich variety of NENHC presentations and offerings as well, providing added incentive for them to make the trip. We have also been able to facilitate negotiations with the conference venue to assist in the planning of your event thereby easing the organizational burden, and often the costs as well since we can often secure the space needed at no additional cost. Please contact us if you might be interested in scheduling a concurrent meeting or if you have any questions about doing so.

SPARCnet's Annual Meeting - Friday April 16th, 9 am to 5:15 pm, location TBA

The Salamander Population and Adaptation Research Collaboration Network (SPARCnet) is excited to hold its 2027 Annual Meeting in conjunction with the Northeast Natural History Conference in Springfield, MA. Founded in 2013, SPARCnet is a collaborative research network whose members all study the population ecology of the eastern red-backed salamander (Plethodon cinereus) using standardized coverboard plots and capture-mark-recapture methods. Our Annual Meeting will consist of broad network updates and lightning research talks in the morning and a workshop and working group breakouts in the afternoon.

The SPARCnet Annual Meeting is free, and open to all current members of SPARCnet as well as any curious NENHC attendees who would like to know more or become involved in SPARCnet. A virtual option will be available for those who are unable to attend in person. Light refreshments will be available, however attendees will be responsible for supplying their own lunch and dinner.

Please contact Caitlin Fisher-Reid (mfisherreid@bridgew.edu) with any questions. Use the NENHC registration form to sign up for the meeting.

Detailed Agenda for the SPARCnet Annual Meeting will be linked here once it is available.

Additonal within-Conference meetings hosted by participating organizations will be listed here as they are confirmed.
