Engaging with Contemporary Artists

Humboldt's "Views of Nature"

We welcome engaging with artists who are interested in exploring the wild nature of coastal and inland eastern Maine in search of moments that inspire their muse to create works fo art. The pending construction of the cultural center on the western slope of Eagle Hill anticipates spaces for hosting exhibits of works by artists who were in residence at Eagle Hill. Options for artists at this time include the following ones.

Scientific illustration seminars ... Since 1987, Eagle Hill has been offering seminars in the natural history-related arts, mostly focusing on media used in scientific illustration. There is a special emphasis on the art of composition within a micro-landscape setting.

Plein air retreats ... During summer months, meals are provided. During the fall, winter, and spring, a kitchenette is available.
