Volunteering on Behalf of the Music Program
What are your special interests, abilities, and social goals?
Some suggestions for volunteering ...
- First and foremost, just keep the Eagle Hill music program in mind by remembering why it is meaningful to you.
Engage socially.
- Email with musicians about their photos, bio paragraphs, and program details.
- Welcome musicians on concert days and help them get set up.
- Email with concert guests who sign up, and help with questions and meal preferences.
- Play host or hostess on concert days to help guests feel welcome.
- Play the role of correspondent for the pending Eagle Hill newsletter by drafting brief entries.
- Take occasional photographs during special concert evening moments, and archive the best ones.
- Reach out to potential music lecture presenters who live in or are visiting eastern Maine.
Help with publicity.
- Draft brief concert calendar entries for newspapers, radio stations, social media, and marquees.
- Draft announcements for our music email list using Constant Contact.
- Draft concert-day handouts with program details using Adobe Indesign.
- Add a music historian's perspective for each concert by drafting text-only paragraph that will be linked from our calendar page to a flyer with photos (with help from the musicians).
- Play the role of correspondent for newspapers by drafting occasional press releases for especially newsworthy concerts and other events.
- Download, print, and post concert flyers in your home area.
Lastly ...
- Introduce others to world of music at Eagle Hill, thus helping to expand our support base.
