About the Eagle Hill Institute
The Caribbean Naturalist is one of the peer reviewed scientific journals published by the institute. Our best known journals are the Northeastern Naturalist and Southeastern Naturalist, which cover eastern North America.
Our Northeast Natural History Conference is the in-person conference the institute has been hosting annually since 2011 for northeastern North America. It averages 400-600 participants each year, of which 40% consistently are students. We adopted this conference at the suggestion of the New York State Museum.
In-person Caribbean island natural history science travel seminars are being considered by the institute. They will run in parallel with the week-long in-person seminars we have been offering on the eastern Maine coast since 1987.
We seek expressions of interest from resident island field biologists who would like to share an overview of their island with fellow academically-interested field biologists and naturalists over a 10 to 14 day period. Some participants may choose to return as research collaborators.
Online Caribbean island natural history science seminars are also being considered by the institute. They will run in parallel with the online seminars we have been offering since 2020.
We seek expressions of interest from specialist who would like to share an overview of their research interests with fellow academically-interested field biologists and naturalists. These seminars consist of five 2-hour classes taught over Zoom. Instructors do not need to be residents of the Caribbean.
