Meeting Format
The Caribbean Natural History Conference serves as a forum for researchers, natural resource managers, students, and naturalists. It welcomes presentations on natural history science and conservation (freshwater, marine, and terrestrial organisms and environments) and applied field biology of the Caribbean islands and circum-Caribbean mainland.
The conference will take place over Zoom by way of a series of thematically-focused sessions each afternoon. The timing of each session will be tightly orchestrated, i.e., each presentation will start and end on time, without an option to extend the presentation. This allows participants to alternate between the two Zoom rooms to choose presentations that are of interest to them. Presenters are asked to be there for the duration of their session.
Session format - Each session will be 1.5 hours long and will start with a 5-minute period for introductions and general discussion, followed by five PowerPoint presentations each lasting 15 minutes, including time for questions, and will end with 5 minutes for closing remarks.
Presentations may be given in English, Spanish, or French. PowerPoint slides should include English labeling.
